Archery Programs 

Junior Olympic Archery Development/ JOAD

JOAD starts their season in the fall and ends in the spring. JOAD meets every Sunday from 4:30pm to 6:30pm on the Indoor Range. This program is for 8 to 18 year olds, and the coaches are USAA Level II Certified coaches. JOAD is open to the public, however, the child must become a Junior member to join JOAD. Junior membership is $10. Equipment is available for children wanting to try archery to confirm interest prior to investing in equipment. JOAD attended tournaments throughout the season, and many archers placed in those tournaments. The JOAD home tournament this year was March 16th and March 17th. Family Archery

Meets every Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm. Bring the family for a warm indoor, or a pleasant outdoor shooting. Fees are $3 per shooter, $1 targets, and no range fees for children, who are under 18 years, so this is an inexpensive way for the family to hone their skills and have fun. Gun Programs

Junior Rifle

Junior Rifle practice and shoots are held every Monday night from Oct to May, from 6 to 9 pm. This is for youth ages 11 to 18. Instruction will be given on gun safety, proper handling of a rifle and techniques. The shooters will be following the NRA 4-Position Stage Skill Rifle Qualification and they can earn medals and patches as they progress in their skills. They will learn to shoot effectively from prone, sitting, kneeling, and standing positions. The club provides the .22 rifles and ammo. Come to a meeting or stop by Monday night for info. They meet Thursday nights from late Oct. through the end of April, 4pm to 7pm. It involves bullseye shooting with .22 rifles and centerfire pistols. Come see what it is all about or email Neal at nealhurley@hurley2.com for more information.

Indoor Pistol meets every Wednesday night, year-round, at 6:00 PM. We invite all to come down and practice with your handgun. You stand and shoot under the command of the range master in charge. It is fun and great practice if you keep a handgun for protection. Cost is only $2 range fee and $1 for each target that you shoot. All levels of shooters are welcome; open to members and the public so bring your family and friends. Stop down and have fun with your gun! Call 412-264-9920 and leave a message if interested.

These matches feature Air Pistol, and Standard and Free pistol, both of which are shot with .22 caliber pistols. Practice Thursday evenings on the indoor range. Range set up begins at 5pm and practice ends about 8:00PM. E-mail nealhurley.@hurley2com for more information.

Summer Rifle Night

Starting this summer, CDSA will have a Rifle Night. This is a night to come down and shoot with fellow members on the 100M Range, weather permitting. As soon as the Rifle Night is finalized, CDSA will provide the details for all to know. If interested contact Keith at jayhawk.harry@gmail.com.
